Two down, two to go.

I am in the middle of applying to medical school. The first step was to take the MCAT, which I took last April. The next step was to fill out a primary online application through AMCAS, which took me a month and a half to finish and cost $340 in fees (7 schools). After receiving my primary applications, four schools wanted more information (secondary application materials), two came back as rejections and the last one decided not to even respond. The four schools that want more info are all in Pennsylvania and I’ve completed two of the secondaries, one for Drexel University and the other for Temple University. The only thing that I lack on the other two applications are my short essays. They would have already been finished but I haven’t had much time in the past week or so to finish writing them. I will be finishing them and sending them along by the end of next week. If the schools decide that they like my paper info, I’ll have interviews next semester up at the schools. I’m not a big fan of traveling alone, but it is something that will determine a big part of the next 4-6 years of my life. I can’t afford to fly to the cities, so I’m looking at an 8-9 hour drive depending on the city that I have an interview in…yuck. Pray that the Lord’s hand be in this whole endeavor.

Between med school, getting married in July, and moving shortly thereafter, I”ve got a lot of major changes to adjust to this coming year.

  1. Which one did not respond and have you contacted them as to why they have not responded?
It is possible that you got lost in the shuffle and just need to nudge them.
