Markets in Everything: Gold Vending Machines.
I don’t know which is more incredible: that such a thing is possible in China, or that it’s illegal here.

This is a thorough rebuttle.
Frankly, I’m getting tired of the Orthodox community responding to any criticism of their theology by saying that Protestants are ignorant, don’t understand, haven’t done their research, etc. It’s as though modern liberalism finds its ancient heritage in the Orthodox church. They can’t seem to tolerate the thought that thinking Christians can understand their theology and just call it wrong.
Interesting Fact of the Day: Obese Outnumber Hungry, “Excess Nutrition” Kills More Than Hunger..
There’s an interesting idea: instead of subsidizing farmers, subsidize farming products, kind of like a negative sales tax for food products. That’d tweak the market!
It never works for me, either.
I’m not so sure I can stand behind my mom’s positive review of my high school experience. But I’m behind the principle 100%, with one caveat: In many schools today a child, with the help of a very stupid parent, can win.
On a tangental note, immigration is actually the bigggest reason I’m against too many social services. By definition, it’s impossible to provide unlimited free services – free education, free child care, free medicine, free soup – to an unlimited supply of people. So, as long as we are providing those services, and the more of those services we provide, the more we are going to be closed off to foreigners joining our community. We just can’t afford to support everyone who’s here, plus everyone who comes through on their way to somewhere else. I’m in favor of open immigration, even with all the crime control problems and evangelism opportunities that come with it. So I must be against all those social services that give people reasons to be against immigration.

Like, totally.
This guy’s humor is moving over to a certain kind of satire.
Somebody probably told you that the quality of life has gone down in the last 40 years. It’s just not true.
