Bluh…

My husband is loving the weather, but I’m the one who has stand out in it. I don’t mind cold and I don’t dislike rain. I can even put up with wind now and again, but the combination made for a particularly miserable commute into town today. I had to wait outside in the yuck twice before I got to campus: once at the train station in Beverly and again at the bus stop at Back Bay Station. The first wait wasn’t too bad but the second not so nice. The bus stop has no covering for people waiting for the bus and it’s across the street from the station. I ended up hunkering down under my bubble umbrella in my long pea coat and waiting as I got blustered this-a-way and that-a-way. And then my feet got wet and the back of my coat, which I had between me and the wind, and my gloves became quite damp. By the time I got to school I was shivering. I went to my first class and tried to dry out before I had to go eat my supper in another building. Thankfully the wind and wet had died down a bit during my class. Now all I had to deal with was chilliness, which would have been a lot easier if my feet hadn’t stayed damp. I’m finally home, took a nice hot bath and got out of my damp shoes. I do have to admit that it’s marvelous to feel my toes again. I’m counting down the days until I can get myself some waterproof snow boots.
