And now for the rest of the story…
Due to the realization that the Lord wanted us to move back southward, I opened myself up for looking for employment either part time or full time to fill up the rest of the spring semester and came across a part time teaching position at Bradford Christian Academy. I called the number and asked for more information about the position and found out that they needed someone to teach high school chemistry for their sophomores and someone to oversee the students taking an online physics course. Neither of these subjects is my strongest suit but I decided to apply for the position and see if this was the direction that the Lord wanted for me to go. After two in person interviews I was offered the position yesterday (Tuesday, February 7) and found that I was very interested in taking the position to teach.
While I was in between in person interviews I received a second call for an interview as a Customer Service Coordinator at North Shore Medical Center in Lynn. It’s an entry level job which would be half administrative half problem solving and fielding phone calls for patient complaints as well as calls coming from other departments, families, healthcare providers, etc. Basically it’s the ‘foot in the door’ position that I’ve been looking for about a month now.
The only drawback is the fact that they want to fill a full time position. Since Kyle and I have been in prayer and feel that we are called back to Charlotte that means that we would be moving in about six months. Not wanting to seem dishonest I did mention that fact to the HR person who interviewed me yesterday and she decided to send me on to the second interview the head of the department of Customer Service. I think that the interview went well and that I might be offered some short term part time work in the department so that I can gain experience in working in a hospital environment and gain skills that will help me to work my way towards patient advocacy and services management.
This morning (Thursday, February 8 ), I called the school back and accepted their offer to teach the chem class. I start tomorrow morning bright and early observing the order of things, filling out paperwork and getting tools together. I will officially start teaching on Monday. I’m a little nervous but really excited at the same time.
And that is why I believe again that the Lord has a very odd sense of humor. “Though sorrow may last for the night (or month as the case may be), joy comes with the morning.” Don’t you just love it when the Lord puts things together so intricately? Keep praying though, I still need to have a second part time job so that we have enough money to move and suchlike.
Peace and Blessings to you all.
Valerie,
I would be great to have you and Kyle back in Charlotte. We’ll certainly keep you both in our prayers. When we decided that God was moving us to Charlotte so Eddie could work for the B.G.E.A. (which led to me working for the B.G.E.A two years later) we needed a similar financial blessing. It was amazing how God provided for that move down to the very penny. If it’s His plan prepare to be amazed at how He’ll bring it about. Keep us updated. Blessings, Vicki
